RECOMMENDED FORMS OF PHYSIOTHERAPY IN JOINT INJURIES
Tadeusz Kasperczyk, Andrzej Markowski
The aim of the article is to present selected physiotherapeutic treatments which should be included in the rehabilitation program for joint injuries and in the cases of joint blockage. The reason for underestimating these forms is poor knowledge of the essence and importance of some measures in the process of rehabilitation of dysfunctions connected mainly with the musculoskeletal system.
Among the treatments connected with joint injuries, primarily such as contusion, sprain, dislocation and subluxation, the following were included: centrifugal massage and joint acupressure. The techniques and methodology of these treatments were described. In the cases of pathology based on manual therapy, i.e. blockage, which is illustrated by the case of disc herniation of the thoracic spine, manual therapy measures were described, i.e. mobilizations and manipulations with an emphasis on the physiotherapy algorithm in the cases of blockage in the joint. The algorithm was based on a praxeological model of action, taking into account all five of its links. In the summary, attention was drawn to selected factors that have undeniable advantages in supporting the fundamental process of treatment, these are: both manual and mechanical vibrations, vacuum therapy, (medical cupping), permanent or electromagnetic magnetic field and kinesiotaping.
Key words: entrifugal massage, acupressure, blockage, passive mobilizations.
